Fire Sprinkler Designer

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Learn fire sprinkler codes (NFPA-13)

2. Basic building layout (walls, ceiling grid, basic fire sprinkler layout, including heads and piping)

3. Put together submittal package (run copies, prints, mail packages)

4. Assist with field surveys

Qualification Requirements
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma, AA, AS, BA, BS, engineering degree, and/or related experience/training. Some knowledge of fire sprinkler codes a plus. NICET certification a plus.

Computer Skills

Must have mathematical aptitude and prior knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD).

Language Skills

Ability to read and write clearly. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction).
